What else happened this weekend? The Red Bulls moved into first place, and expect them to stay there. The Galaxy, Salt Lake, and Dallas all won keeping things close and interesting in the West. Columbus managed a draw after resting most of its starters in last week's CONCACAF Champions League match, but who suits up tomorrow night against Seattle for the U.S. Open Cup? Chicago is hoping that regardless they can take advantage and get back in the hunt for the playoffs. Better late than never!

MLS Playoff Update
Chicago and Kansas City blew great opportunities to make up ground when Colorado lost at home to DC United, who currently sit in the absolute basement of MLS. And with Colorado having to face FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake, and the LA Galaxy, the playoff race could have really gotten interesting. Chicago still has an outside shot, but I just can't see Kansas City pulling it off. Watch for the two playoff fringe teams to face off on October 12th, if only they were just a few points closer...
