Live Commentary and Under the Radar Starters for Week 1:

Some guys who will be solid if not spectacular this week.

Jabar Gaffney: Denver’s number 1 receiver. Someone’s got to catch the ball and if he picks up where he left off from last season he could be addition off the waiver wire. Add that Jacksonville has a weak passing D only helps the case for him to start.

Brandon Marshall: Playing against Buffalo. Miami wears the Bills down with the run and the Henne hits Marshall for a few short passes that turn into 25+ yard plays.

Ahmad Bradshaw: He’s getting the start over Jacobs and will back it up with a solid performance.

Ryan Mathews: Makes his debut and it will be big.

Cadillac Williams: Finally healthy this year and Browns will be without Shaun Rogers.

Arian Foster: Explosive game with high octane offense and he’ll benefit from it.

Chad Henne: More because he’s playing Buffalo, but will be a solid starter today.

Matthew Stafford: Look for him to put up enough stats for to be a top 10QB this week.

I'll be keeping an eye on Cincinatti tight end Jermaine Gresham, and also Brandon Pettigrew. Yes, I have Antonio Gates, but yes, keeping another team from picking up this year's potential Vernon Davis could be worth it. Like I really need Carson Palmer rotting away on my bench.

Also, if I had Wes Welker on my team, he'd be starting today regardless.

while you're watching the Bengals, keep an eye on Jordan Shipley-he could be Wes Welker 2.0

I believe I last saw Jordan Shipley play at a nice little house on the East End... didn't Texas win that game with a last second field goal?

if you're talking about the Big 12 Championship then yes. Suh dominated the game for Nebraska, but the Horns did just enough to get the win and play 'Bama for the Nat'l title. No comment on that game except Nick Saban sucks.

WELKER TD!

Hate New England but love being right!

Props to Stevo for drafting Massaquoi - WR fail for not playing Wes Welker.

Houston shutting out Indy? Where's Andre-oh getting triple teamed while Walter is cleaning up.

Best has first TD w/Detroit.

Nicks and Manningham are Eli's targets today. Rushing game struggling so far.

Pats looking good. Brady already has 2TDs and Moss has 50 yards.

VY outrushing CJ2K. Ha!

CJ2K goes from 34 yards to over 100 in a blink of an eye. Titans look dominate, which they should against the Raiders.

Halftime thoughts:

#1) It's still early.

#2) Giants offense looks rusty/shaky/bad

#3) Patriots look good on both sides of the ball against a team getting a little bit of hype going into the season.

#4) I thought Jahvid Best would go in our first round (round 3)

#5) Would the Brklyn Brwlers have been better off keeping Hakeem Nicks and an 8th round draft pick instead of trading for Calvin Johnson? Team Box says thank you.

MC ENTIRE said...

Ha to #5. It's a long season and I got confidence that Calvin will be a top 5 WR despite an absence today. I love Casey and if Hakeem would have to leave me, I'm glad he went to my hubby.

Jahvid not putting up yards, but getting TDs-looks good. Kevin Smith who?

See Forte's numbers? Impressive.

think calvin had that last TD...

the one that was called back?

MC ENTIRE said...

yea, the TD as time expired. i saw the highlight. looked like he had possession.

Wish the Lions could have caught a break... any word on Stafford?

right shoulder injury. undetermined how severe. it's not his left shoulder that he injured last year and kept him out a few games so I guess that's good, but then this is is throwing arm. lions can't get a break. curse of matt millen?
